With 2 woodcut printer’s marks (Froben), 12 large woodcut initials (a few repeated), and some smaller woodcut initials. 4 nn. lvs., 518 pp., 35 nn. lvs. Contemp. blindst. calf, rebacked, clasps missing.

"¶ 1st ed. of the 2nd translation. – Adams D 630; Schweiger I,100; Hieronymus, Griech. Geist aus Basler Pressen 249. – Dionysius Halicarnassensis, Greek historian and teacher of rhetoric, flourished during the reign of Augustus. His great work, Roman Antiquities, embraced the history of Rome from the mythical period to the beginning of the first Punic War. – “Eine ganz neue Übersetzung, die nun direkt auf dem griechischen Text beruht. Übersetzer ist der aus Prag stammende, seit Jahrzehnten in Basel als Herausgeber und Korrektor in der Officina Frobeniana tätige Gelenius (Gelensky).” – A famous classical Greek text, here in Gelenius’ Latin version. – Index misbound to end of volume.
